MORE INFO
The election is being run by the New South Wales Electoral Commission and will take place on Saturday 4 December. The Northern Beaches area is split into 5 "wards" based on your suburb and residents will be asked to vote for 3 Councillors in each of the 5 wards. Those 15 Councillors will then elect the Mayor.
This year, in light of the COVID 19 pandemic, the Electoral Commission is making it easier to use different ways to avoid the crowds when casting your vote. There are different rules and guidelines for each option:
-
Postal Voting - Where ballot papers get sent to your residential address and you can vote from home and post them back to the Electoral Commission. Applications for postal votes open on 26 October and close on 29 November https://www.elections.nsw.gov.au/Voters/Other-voting-options/Postal-voting
-
iVote (online and telephone voting) - For some eligible voters, it is possible to vote online or over the phone. Applications for iVote open on 22 November and close at 1pm on election day 4 December https://www.elections.nsw.gov.au/Voters/Online-voting-iVote
-
Prepoll voting - Prepoll voting will be available at selected venues on the Northern Beaches from Monday 22 November until Friday 3 December. Information about prepolling in general can be found here: https://elections.nsw.gov.au/Voters/Other-voting-options/Early-voting-and-pre-polling-in-person
-
A list of prepoll venues for the Northern Beaches will be available from the Electoral Commission website closer to the election: https://www.elections.nsw.gov.au/Elections/Find-my-electorate/Councils/Northern-Beaches
We have 6 Councillors representing you in each of the five wards of Manly, Curl Curl, Pittwater, Frenchs Forest & Narrabeen within Northern Beaches Council.
Led by Mayor Michael Regan, we have 15 independent candidates ready to represent you and serve our community
Our team of Independents listen closely to the community and set goals that are important to everyday people.
We aren’t slaves to the big political parties’ mandated voting lines. We work WITH all sides and levels of government - to deliver transparent and democratic benefit to locals.
