LOCAL PLANNING PANELS
The original Notice of Motion was primarily about moving the meeting times of the Panel to 6pm.
After discussion around the table the following was discussed:
That the new Council had completed community consultation about the times preferred and that out of 111 respondents, 72% had preferred morning meetings and 22% had preferred evening meetings as their first choice.
That out of the 30 Councils currently running Planning Panels only 5 had their at 6pm or later.
That Council had already changed the times of their meetings from 11am to 1pm.
A concern was the cost of these meetings (approx $2000 each) would rise as staff overtime had to be considered & these Panels would more than likely start meeting more often due to boarding house and other DA issues.
