MELWOOD OVAL NETBALL COURTS AND CAR PARK

Netball

Per Council’s resolution in August 2017 a tender was issued for the design and construction of five new netball courts and car park modifications at Melwood Oval, part of the Forestville War Memorial Playing Fields complex. Council has assessed the tenders and the tendered prices for the contract were significantly above budget and not considered value for money for the net gain of two netball courts and 15 car spaces. Council proposes to reduce the scope of the project to ensure that the Forest Netball Clubs needs are met through constructing three new hard courts adjacent to the existing hard courts, installing lighting to Australian Standards for netball, constructing paths and allowing car access to the three existing netball courts on weekends for overflow car parking.
